As the Occupy movement shut down the Port of Oakland December 12 in conjunction with other port shutdowns across the West Coast, BAMN Attorney Monica Smith and Occupy Cal protesters spoke out at the Oakland courthouse demanding that UC-Berkeley Chancellor Robert Birgeneau and Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley not file criminal charges against the Berkeley protesters from November 9, 2011.
Also, the Berkeley City Council voted unanimously December 13th to condemn the UC-Berkeley police violence and demand that no criminal charges be filed!
