WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
BUILD FOR APRIL 1, 2003

Circulate the Pledge to March on Washington D.C.

+ Contact people in other organizations, on other campuses get them to circulate the Pledge.

+ Bring the Pledge to your group, church, etc.

+ Get the Pledge printed your local/campus newspaper

Join the March on Washington Organizing Team

+ Set up an organizing committee in your school, union or neighborhood.

+ Spread the word about the march, start signing people up to go to D.C.

+ Contact us for more information

Raise money for buses from your school/organization to get to Washington
Write a letter to your school/local paper saying why you support integration
Contact extended family members, old friend, coworkers tell them how important this fight is and that there is not a minute to lose. Get them to circulate the pledge and begin fundraising for a bus from their location.
Circulate the Petition to Support Affirmative Action Before the U.S. Supreme Court

If you are part of an organization, union or church:

+ Get your organization to join the quickly growing list of co-sponsors of the Million Person March on Washington in Defense of Affirmative Action and Integration.

+ Get this issue on the agenda of the next meeting. Bring us to speak on the details of the two U of M affirmative action cases and the March on Washington

+ Assign a March on Washington Coordinator(s) from your organization to coordinate your group's effort and to facilitate communication with BAMN's National Organizers.

+ Bring a BAMN National Organizer to speak at your next meeting

+ Bring the pledge and petition to the next meeting and to work.

+ Get your organization to help with fundraising for buses for the march.

+ Find fundraising sources for your local mobilization and to facilitate the national mobilization to Washington. One bus will cost about $3000 from the Midwest.

Remember, in this fight, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. Seize the day!
