_________ [fill in your city] Marching in Washington to
Defend Affirmative Action and Save Brown v. Board of Education

On ________ [March 31 or April 1, depending on your schedule] at ______ [Time], ______ [number of people] students, union and church members, community, civil rights, and anti-war activists will leave from _______________ [Location] to join tens of thousands of others for the April 1 National Civil Rights Rally and March at the Supreme Court. The march and rally to defend affirmative action and save Brown v. Board of Education will coincide with the U.S. Supreme Court oral arguments on the two University of Michigan affirmative action cases, Grutter v. Bollinger and Gratz v. Bollinger.

The march, organized by the Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action & Integration, and Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), United for Equality and Affirmative Action (UEAA) and other student and youth organizations, has been endorsed by every leading civil rights and labor organization in the nation, including the NAACP, Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, LULAC, NOW, the UAW, the AFL-CIO Organizing Institute, HERE, UNITE, and the UFCW.

“This historic march represents the growing strength of a new youth-led civil rights movement determined to win integration and equality throughout this society. We stand in defense of affirmative action because we will not allow higher education to be resegregated and Brown to be rendered a dead letter. This fight will determine the future of our nation," said Shanta Driver, National Spokesperson for BAMN.
